Pop Revo (part three)

Now also with a video (Torben and yours truly included :-)).

Oh, and that gives me a chance to hype Snaredrum again, so that's good. The EP's still here. And it's still smashing.

In A Better World (11)

This is the new regular blog feature. Once a week there'll be a little something about a song that really ought to have been a hit. Well, in a better World, that is. This week it's:

STEREOLAB: "CHANGER"

I was too tired to write last week due to Pop Revo. But back with a vengeance. The sound of being drunk and dancing in Århus in the 90ies. Right here.

Yay...

I should've written this like a million years ago. Or something like two weeks, at least. BUT: new album by Crystal Shipsss (Jacob Faurholt's side project). Very lo-fi, very weird, and very lovely. Favourites: "Uh Huh", "Romantic" and "The Jacket". Check some it out via Bandcamp (or the entire album on Spotify) and try this video, too:

Pop Revo (part two)

WE FORGOT CASINO BAR!!! But apart from that, it was lovely. Snaredrum was very cool in that slacker kinda way. Beers. Pinden and a classic dinner. Lower Dens was pretty cool. Austra was horrible. Beers. Drinks. Afterparty at Den Sidste.

And pictures! Torben and yours truly. Actually we just took them to piss off Mikkel and Jesper who cancelled on us, but what the hell, you get to see them too (in chronological order starting Saturday afternoon and ending with brunch this morning):

In A Better World (10)

This is the new regular blog feature. Once a week there'll be a little something about a song that really ought to have been a hit. Well, in a better World, that is. This week it's:

MY BLOODY VALENTINE: "CIGARETTE IN YOUR BED"

Yeah. Last week was reissue week in terms of MBV. And despite never really having a "hit", I'm thinking that no further introduction is needed. So I've just added one of my favourite songs from "EPs 1988-1991". And it's here. And have a sip of "Strawberry Wine", another oldie, before they went completely shoegaze :-):

In A Better World (9)

This is the new regular blog feature. Once a week there'll be a little something about a song that really ought to have been a hit. Well, in a better World, that is. This week it's:

MIXTAPES AND CELLMATES: "DISTANCE, BLINDING LIGHTS"

Shoegaze / sad Swedish pop. And it's good! PLUS: We saw them in Malmö once, had a blast, went to a party with some people we met at the concert and slept there, before going home the day after. Tired and hungover like whatnot.

And try this one, too:

Green Sea

Ok. This is great. First "Doldrums" and now (via Gorillavsbear) "Green Sea". Check out Fear Of Men:

If there's any justice left in this world, they're gonna be huge.
