Kuyt, Razika, Whatever

What a weekend! Liverpool winning the Carling Cup. And we're done with the rough mix of "C.P.H.L." and it's sorta the saddest space-lo-fi song ever made (or something). I'm gonna upload it next week.

And listening to "Aldri" (I loooove this band):

Always On Time...

Well, in this case I ain't. I should've written this post a while ago, but then ... You know. Work. Recording. Etc. Etc. Etc. Anyways, better late than never, so here goes:

Them Town Hall people are doing some very cool covers these days. There is this one, their version of Ja Rule and Ashanti's "Always On Time", and it's way, way better than the original. But better still is their interpretation of "Old Man Duff", check it out (I'm a complete sucker for crappy drum machines combined with folky stuff, and that's what you get here):

Cars...

Søren's making a songs-about-cars-top-10, check it out!

I'm figuring this one won't be on the list, so I'm just gonna post it instead:

Blood Brothers...

Well, I wanted to write a bit about Chorus Grant. Mainly because I heard this song over at Stytzer and really liked it:

But also because I read the review in Soundvenue, where the song was described as "eskapistisk folkpop". And I was like "wtf" and all I could think about was some dude with an acoustic guitar on his back running away from an angry mob. Well, that and high school, where you had to use words like "eskapistisk" once in a while. Anywho, the important thing here is that Chorus Grant (he's also called Kristian Finne Kristensen) wrote me this morning with some info about a new video for the song "Blood Brothers". And it's right here, because you know what? I really like this one, too!:

Lady Artemis...

Yay (times two)!

One: New video from Chromatics!

Two: Three old songs from King's Daughters & Sons, and damn, they're lovely (two of the songs are included on the fantastic "If then not when" too, though in different versions)!:

Into The Black...

Awwww. One of my favourite bands just released the second single from their forthcoming album "Kill For Love". And it's a Neil Young cover!:

I love it (but then again, I love pretty much everything done by Chromatics).

Speaking of covers, check this kinda new Danish blog called Omslagsudgaver. Very much recommended if you're into bands like The Smiths, Slowdive or Joy Division. Or How Do I:

Faster, Harder...

Weekend! Just relaxing and listening to music. Like Royal Baths (feat. Lesley from Friends "looking like a babe :-)). Or Papa Bue "Hun misted' den i nat" (I pushed the wrong button on my radio this morning, so I've been listening a bit to P4, where they played this rather fantastic song). Or The Megaphonic Thrift (that's some cool psych-shoegaze, woah!):

And last night I wrote a tremendously cool song. It's sad, it's slow and it's kinda beautiful, if I may say so myself.

Kinski at dawn

When I started blogging almost five years ago, my first two posts were about Klaus&Kinski and Bakers at dawn. They've both done covers of Oliver North Boy Choir songs and Bakers at dawn even gave us a helping hand with two songs (the songs are either here as a Spotify-playlist or here). Once, I also went to Murcia to visit K&K and do some DJ'ing, while Bakers-Marcus + friends played a concert with Boombox last year. To sum it up: I really, really, really like both bands (and the lovely band members)! And this week they both relased videos, check'em out: "Ojo por diente" and "personal hell":
