Random stuff I loved in 2010...

One: This song + this completely screwed up video (Mikkel loves it, of course, because it's insane sci-fi :-)):

Two: Sore Eros!

Three: Summer! Had a kinda weird one, but still one of the best I can remember. Most of it spent wisely on walking the streets of Copenhagen listening to John Mogensen.

Four: The Walkmen. The.Coolest.Band.In.The.World.

Five: Avi Buffalo. Just what I needed, a group of youngsters making 60ies-indie-pop with crazy guitar solos.

Six: This Håkan Hellström song. The vocals. And the guitar. And yes, it's simple and it sounds like something you've heard a million times before, but I'm a complete sucker for it anyway:

Seven: Roskilde Festival. Beer. Cigarettes. Beach House. Pavement. Prince. What else do you need?

Eight: Boombox playing their first concerts. Or rather, I loved not being stoned, drunk, dressed in dresses or whatever it took to get me on stage back in high school. Apparently it is possible to control stage fright, when you get older.

Nine: Danger Mouse & Sparklehorse ( & Julian Casablancas) for making the song of the year (speaking of crazy guitar solos, btw):

Ten: This video. The song is extremely cool and the bass player is extremely hot (yeah, yeah, I'm repeating myself here, I know :-)):

"And our hearts go thump thump thump thump..."

Go stream "Know Touching" by Sore Eros here! And do it now, please. The songs sound like lo-fi meeting psych meeting shoegaze, but in essence they're just really great pop tunes with a streak of naive melancholy. So go sway gently to the constantly repeating "Fooled Me" or relax to the immensely beautiful "Yellow Dress". Or just love the drums and the approx 4 seconds of shakers (how cool is that) of this one:

Yeah, it's pretty dreary...

Yes, it looks like we're gonna do the master on Monday the 13th! We should've done it 2 weeks ago, but the studio guys decided that recording a few songs with Lady Gaga might be smarter than hanging out with us. Go figure :-).

Anywho, we've begun recording some demos too, and if we feel like it, we're just gonna put'em up for free download. So here's the first, it's called "There you go" and it's just Steffen playing percussion on his banjo, Mikkel on the guitar and me singing. When we (at some point in the future) record it "4 real" there'll be drums, bass, acoustic guitar, some cello and backing vocals. And yeah, it's kinda sad, but if you've got a hangover like me it should be pretty much perfect for a snowy and cold Sunday:
